The Director of Finance and Operations reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing and managing the internal finances and administrative operations of ImpactIsrael.

The Director of Finance and Administration will work 20 hours a week as a member of the ImpactIsrael team to assist in generating financial and administrative analyses to support fundraising efforts and annual Federal and State fiscal reporting. Candidates need to reside in the DC metro area for the hybrid remote and on site position.

Responsibilities:
Accounting
• Manage account receivables and payables
• Maintain Bank and Investment Accounts (deposits, reconciliations, prepare checks)
• Calculate Gains/Losses on Investment Accounts
• Reconcile Financial Records with Donor Database
• Coordinate stock donations with investment managers
• Analyze Monthly Capital gains/losses on investments
• Monitor credit card charges
• Develop, implement and maintain Accounting Policies Manual

Financial Reporting
• Coordinate Annual Audit with outside auditors
• Work with outside auditors during 990 preparation
• Prepare State Charity Registrations and Annual Filings
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual Financials Reports for Executive Director and Board
• Prepare quarterly/annual Endowment Reports
• Prepare annual Named Endowment Fund evaluations
• Prepare Monthly Campaign Reports and Pledge Tracking Spreadsheets
• Evaluate Matching Grants and provide Grantor Reports
• Coordinate with Board Treasurer and Chair of Investment Committee to keep abreast of financial and investments status
• Coordinate with CFO in Israel to ensure proper reconciliation of financial records

Budgeting
• Assist Executive Director with ImpactIsrael annual budget preparations
• Review annual budgets from Israel and incorporate into Annual Fundraising Goals
• Maintain and monitor budgets
• Review Monthly Funds Request from Israel and track against budgets

Administrative
• Responsible for all corporate human resources activities including; payroll, insurance benefits, Simple IRA
• Work with estate attorneys and insurance brokers to facilitate distributions from bequests and life insurance proceeds.
• Develop, implement and maintain Employee Policy Manual

Qualifications
• B.S. in Accounting preferred
• Experience in non-profit accounting a plus
• Experience with Audit coordination and 990 preparation
• Strong computer skills: proficiency Accounting Software (QuickBooks), Excel, and MS Word
• Experience with Database Systems
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Communication skills and ability to work with staff, Board and donors
